Education
I fully support eliminating local property taxes and adding 2 cents to the state sales tax - excluding food items - to expand contributions of tourists to fund our public school system.
I support funding for remedial education in the poorest districts of our state by establishing a revolving fund of $50 million annually for five years from state lottery proceeds.
I propose establishing a full kindergarten program for 4-year-olds by creating childcare centers in available space in our public schools and supervised aftercare programs to support homework and extracurricular activities.
