District 30 Senatorial Candidate Tim Norwood Selects Marion County Co-chairperson

District 30 Senate candidate Tim Norwood, set to challenge Maggie Glover in the June 8th Democratic primary, has selected a co-chairperson to lead his campaign in Marion County.

Former Marion City Councilman Mike Sattane will lend his support as a lead volunteer to the Norwood for Senate campaign, with an emphasis on recruiting volunteers and organizing activities in Marion County.

Sattane, who retired from State Farm Insurance after 38 years of service to the community, formerly served as fire chief of the City of Marion and the Marion Rural Fire Department.

"Tim has been an associate and friend of mine for a long while, and I'm proud to be a part of his campaign for State Senate. I believe in Tim's aspiration to revitalize Marion County and District 30 as State Senator," Sattane said.

Sattane, former president of the Marion Civitan and Rotary clubs as well as a former Charter member of Marion Jaycee's, has held many high-profile positions in the city and within the county of Marion. Norwood believes Sattane's close ties with the local community make him an ideal representative for his 2004 campaign for State Senate.

"I'm proud to have Mike Sattane as a co-chairperson to serve my State Senate campaign in Marion County," Norwood said. "His strong reputation and longstanding history with the Marion County community is something I can count on. Mike will add a great deal of hard work and enthusiasm to this campaign."

Florence businessman Norwood will challenge 12-year incumbent Maggie Glover for the District 30 Senate Seat in the June Democratic primary. His platform includes initiatives on employment, education and health care.
